Shegaon
Shegaon is a town in the Buldhana District of the State of Maharashtra in India. It is located around 550 km east of the city of Mumbai and 300 km west from the city of Nagpur. It is located on Mumbai-Nagpur route of the Central Railway of Indian Railways.
It has acquired fame as a pilgrimage center because Shri Gajanan Maharaj lived there. Hindus consider Shri Gajanan Maharaj a saint with miraculous powers. The origins of Gajanan Maharaj are untraceable in history. Shri Gajanan Maharaj took "Samadhi" at Shegaon. Gajanan Maharaj Temple is built on the Samadhi of Gajanan Maharaj at Shegaon. Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan is the biggest temple trust in the Vidarbha region and is so called as "Pandharpur of Vidarbha". It attracts pilgrims from all over the area. Year 2009-2010 is centenary year of Shri Gajanan Maharaj Samadhi. Anand Sagar area is developed by Trust as Spiritual as well as entertainment center for devotees coming to Shegaon.

By Air : Nearest airport is Nagpur, 316 kms.
By Rail : Shegaon is a station on the Mumbai-Calcutta route of Central Railway.
By Road : Mumbai-Shegaon, 600 kms. (Mumbai-Nashik-Dhule-Jalgaon-Khamgaon-Shegaon) Nagpur-Shegaon, 316 kms. (Nagpur-Amravati-Akola-Ural-Gaigaon-Shegaon). Akola-Shegaon, 45 kms. (Akola-ural-Gaigaon-Shegaon).
State Transport buses ply from Mumbai, Nashik, Shivaji Nagar, Bhandara, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur, Akola, Chandrapur, Wardha, Yeotmal to Shegaon.
